is a program designed to support adolescent girls in staying in school and not missing lessons due to challenges related to their menstrual cycle. The initiative addresses the barriers that menstruation can create for school attendance by providing the necessary support, education, and resources. It recognizes menstruation as a natural hormonal process that occurs monthly in preparation for a possible pregnancy and aims to break the stigma while ensuring that no girl is left behind in her education because of it. As part of the program, we provide menstrual pads, disposal bins, and soap to ensure that girls are covered throughout the year with dignity and comfort. By creating a safe and supportive environment, Sitakosa Shule empowers girls to manage their periods confidently and continue their education without interruption.
The idea behind Kipaji ni Ajira project is simple but powerful to recognize that skills and talents can open doors to employment and income, especially for young people. This project focuses on supporting schools by providing them with sewing machines and rolls of fabric (known in Swahili as vitambaa or majora). With these tools, schools will be able to start small tailoring units that can be used to make or improve school uniforms. But more than that, it creates an opportunity for students and pupils to learn practical tailoring skills, which they can use even beyond the classroom. The goal is not only to improve access to quality school uniforms or reduce costs, but also to give young people hands-on experience with a skill that can help them earn a living. The schools can also benefit financially by offering tailoring services to their communities turning the project into an income generating intervention that supports the school’s other needs. At its heart, Kipaji ni Ajira is about giving students the tools to learn, create, and earn turning talent into real opportunity.
to mean “Hold My Hand”—is a flagship initiative of TETE FOUNDATION that improves the quality of life for children and young people in Tanzania. As part of its broader mission to support vulnerable populations through health, education, leadership, and economic empowerment, Nishike Mkono program focuses on addressing the pressing mobility challenges faced by children with physical disabilities. The program is mostly implemented in rural areas of Tanzania with a high number of children living with mobility impairments. Due to severe financial barriers, many of these children lack access to essential assistive devices particularly wheelchairs preventing them from attending school, living independently, and participating fully in society. Through this initiative, TETE FOUNDATION is fostering a more inclusive society where all children, regardless of physical ability, are given the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. The Nishike Mkono program seeks to bridge this gap by providing wheelchairs and complementary support services to children in need. By doing so, the project aims to: • Enhance the mobility and independence of children with physical disabilities • Enable access to education by facilitating school attendance • Promote social inclusion and future access to formal employment opportunities
TETE FOUNDATION is dedicated to supporting, empowering, and mentoring children and young people to fully harness their talents for a hopeful, fulfilling, and prosperous future.
